---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Biography: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cousin Silas, born and bred in the Colne Valley, a (so I'm told) a beautiful part of West Yorkshire. Born in 1959, inspiration tends to come from as far and wide as JG Ballard, Fortean events, memories and, of course, Brian Eno. Cousin Silas has released music with Fflint Central, Earthrid as well as Earth Monkey Productions and has appeared on various compilations worldwide All the tracks appearing on Earth Monkey Productions have stories to tell, but they go under the general heading of geographical places. Many of them are from Lincolnshire, an area that was often either passed through or stayed at as a child.

It’s available as a free download from the Internet Archive, so you would be daft to miss out.’ - Review of Ballard Landscapes II at Earthrid blog ‘Cousin Silas is my favourite Earth Monkey artist and this release here is 18 tracks of drone & ambience ranging from warm stuff to cold & haunting stuff inspired by writings of J.G.Ballard. I tend to think the dark soundscapes are much better on this one even though I don’t like dark ambience at all, perhaps because Ballard’s writings are mainly dark & dystopic. Listening to Ballard Landscapes II while actually reading some dark Ballard sci-fi would be perfect just check out Abandonned Motorway and weep for humanities future.’ - Review of Ballard landscapes II at Unomondo ‘Another amazing piece of electronic ambience from those simian chaps from Cumbria, Earth Monkey Productions, Ballard Landscapes by Cousin Silas is a collection of truly beautiful ambient soundscapes... reminiscent of label mate 4th Alternative and the mighty Tangerine Dream... dark, but not too dark... subtle but not wallpaper... this album engages the mind without overtaking it. Check it out...’ - Review of Ballard Landscapes at Headphonaughts Nanolog ‘Darker and more ominous than previous work... it still captivates my mind and imagination. Another worthy release from ol' silas!’ - Review of Relic Once Lost At Headphonenaughts Nanolog ‘Hell yeah man Cousin Silas makes music like I wish more bands would make. thanks for that and don't stop with those awesome recommends.’ - dogbowler ‘Geographics is a wonderfully rich saladbowl of sound.
